Mrs. J. G. Coates, Dargaville, who has been^visiting Wellington and Auckland, has returned home. Mrs. T. C. Lowry, Taihape, is visiting her parents, Sir Andrew and Lady Russell, Tunanui, Hastings. Miss Ngaio Marsh, who left New Zealand last March, arrived today by the Rangitane from England. Miss Marsh, who has had six books published and who is writing another to be completed by August, made her headquarters in London whilst in Britain and travelled extensively through Germany and Belgium. Mr and Mrs. Currie, Kelburn, will leave shortly for Christchurch, where Mr. Currie'will attend the legal conference. Mrs. J. Rawson and Miss D. Bulkley, Wellington, are spending a few days in Auckland prior to motoring to Taupo for Easter. Mrs. Charles W. Mack, Brougham Street, and Miss Claire Mack, will leave for England tomorrow' by the Empress of Britain. Mrs. Walter Pavitt, Auckland, arrived in Wellington today from the north, en route to Blenheim, where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Sinclair. • Miss Nellie Gammon, who has been paying a visit to Mrs. Spencer Digby, Lower Hutt, has returned to Wangahui. ' ■■•.•■■■■■ ■ . Mrs, Philip Hanna, Karori, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mr. arid Mrs. T. . P. Fotheringham arrived by the Limited express last evening after touring the North Island. They are staying at Antrim House. Mrs. G. F. Hall, with her daughter, Cara, and Mr. Stanley Hall, will leave for the south on Monday. After fulfilling engagements in the South IslandMiss Hall will return with her parents to. Wellington on Wednesday, May 4, proceeding to Auckland that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Hall and their family will leave Auckland by the Awatea on May 9 to connect with the Ormonde, which leaves Sydney on May 21 for London, where Miss Hall will continue her studies. '. . .... -Mrs. E. Ross, who. has been making a round of visits in the south, staying with Mrs. R, A. Cruickshanks (Bluff), Mrs. J. C. Shaw (Lochiel), and Mrs. E. K. Mills and Nurse Carnahan (Invercargill), has returned to Wellington. Miss■ Joyce-Rowland, who has been residing in Palmerston North for some months, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. H. 8., Hawthorn, Whatuwhiwhi, Kaitaia, North Auckland, is visiting Wellington and is staying with her, mother, Mrs. G. S. Davidson, Kelburn. Mrs. M. Kavanagh and Mrs. M. Hyde, Wellington, are visiting the South Island. Miss : Rose Carte, Eastbourne, w"ho has been spending several months in Auckland with her sister, Mrs. H.1 Davey, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. W. Sant,. Kelburn, and her daughter, Mrs. N. Paterson, will leave for a short visit to Auckland tomorrow night; Miss C. Hull, who has been visiting relatives in Palmerston North and Marton, has returned to/Auckland.1, Mrs. L. Kirk is a Wellington visitor to Auckland. Mrs. Moss Davis, the mother of the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, and the Hon. Eliot R. Davis, Auckland, celebrated her 92nd birthday yesterday at her home in London. Mrs. Davis was a well-known figure in Auckland for many years and left with her husband, the late Mr. Moss Davis, to reside in London some years ago. She still takes a keen interest in New Zealand and its people. Mesdames Stewart and O'Connor, Christchurch, are visiting Wellington and are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
