MOTHERS AND CHILDREN
(To the Editor.)
Siri—l was glad to see this matter brought up because it is indeed true that we are-treated with .scant -respect, and: courtesy, whereas we should be given every privilege and consideration and the way made easy for us in every direction. We hear a lot about the evil of birth control and abortion, but there is no inducement to have j children. Besides the drawbacks mentioned in the letters there is now the prospect of being bombed, gassed, or our husbands sent to war, or their being without work because of another slump and so. npt able to" provide for children. Those in charge of ( these. things must make the ;wofld: safe and pleasant and easy if they want women to .have children, and >, they must give us a feeling'of ■■security.teat the trouble we go to will be worthwhile. Everything cannot be on the one side. -As for birth control, abortion, etc., make the world safe and happy and the natural instinct of huma"n beings will assert itself and'theije will be plenty of children born.—l am, etc.,
ENLIGHTENED MOTHER.
