PARAPARAUMU WOMEN
The annual meeting ■of the Paraparaumu Women's Institute was ' held recently, Mrs. Delahunty presiding. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mrs. Delahunty; secretary, Mrs. Hadfield; treasurer, Mrs. Pascbe; committee, Mes'dames Maclean, Bdhcke, Bowler, Wilkinson, Dewar, Fitchett, ' McConnell, Hardhafn,; Smart, ;Miss Stocker and -Miss Treadwell. -~-.! ; The. points prizel, for the year was won by Mrs. Hughes, arid Hardham iwon the points prize in the best bloom competition. ■ ~ -.- . Mrs. Leas, of the South Wellington federation executive, gave a short talk on the need for co-operation in institute life. A most interesting "Golden Thread" talk'on Leeds was given by Mrs. Pascoe. The competition winners were as follows: Best bloom, Mrs. Harris, 1; Miss Stocker, 2; best lampshade, Mrs. Hughes It was arranged that the competitions for the April meeting are to be for best bloom and the best vegetable. , Afternoon tea was served by tne hostesses for the month.
