TWO CHRISTENINGS
SONS OF NAVAL OFFICERS
The christening of the infant son of Lieutenant-Commander P. Dawnay and the Lady Angela Dawnay took place on Sunday "morning in the naval base chapel, Devonport, Auckland, states an exchange. . The baby ,was christened Charles John. Tha .ceremony, which was a: quiet .one- with 'just a few friends of the parents 'in the chapel, was performed by the Rev. G. T. Robson, M.C., chaplain of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. The Lady Angela is .the fifth daughter of the late Duke of Buccleuch and a sister of the Duchess of Gloucester, and Lieutenant-Commander Dawnay is the second son of Lady Susan and the late Major the Hon. Hugh Dawnay, of County Waterford, Ireland. A similar ceremony was performed the same morning on board the flagship of the New Zealand Division, of the Royal Navy,1 H.M.S. Achilles, by the Rev. G. T. Robson, when the infant son of Lieutenant M. N. de C. Brown and Mrs. Brown was christened. This was the third christening to have been held on board the Achilles since her completion in 1933. During her first commission, before she was attached to the New Zealand, station, she paid a' visit to the'• Azores,, and while she was there a baby, of ,the, British Consul in the group was christened. The second occasion was when the infant son of Lieutenant-Commander G. R. M. Robertson and Mrs. Robertson was christened on board- in (..October of last year. [ ,'"
