NEW ST. ANDREWS COURSE

Residents of St. Andrews, the headquarters of British golf, have expressed unanimous approval of the sugges-

tion that a new course^ capable of being stretched to a championship length.of 7405 yards, should be provided for the town. Sir N. S. Sandeman, M.P., Sir G. Campbell, and Mr. C. K. Hutchison addressed a crowded meeting in the Town Hall, and a resolution

•was passed to the effect that the scheme should go forward for further consideration. Plans were outlined for a course with a normal playing length of 6400 yards, with a medal length .of 6680 yards. The ground to. be used ■under the scheme includes most of the present Jubilee Course, part of the New Course, and a large portion of the land to the seaward side of the dunes. If the plans are accepted twelve New Course holes and one Jubilee hole, together with five new ones, would form a modern Jubilee Course between the Old Course and the new championship links. The cost of the scheme is.estimated af £5000,
