Major Speed, South Australia's sole " representative in' the Inter-Dominion CharnDionships at Addington next month*, scored a comfortable victory •■'in the Hoare Stakes at the Wayville Trotting Meeting last Saturday week. Beginning from 40 yards behind, he always had the leaders covered, and in the last round easily held off Lulu Dick and Lucy Boy. He will be sent to New • Zealand next Monday.
At weight-for-age Stretto should make things hum in the Awapuni Gold Cup on Friday, and she will be an excellent testing-block for the crack three-year-olds, Royal Chief and Smoke Screen.
