ADDINGTON MARKET.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 9.

About 29,000 sheep were entered at today's Addington sale, breeding ewes comprising about 16,000 head, and store lambs 6000. The remainder consisted, of fat sheep and fat lambs.

Store lambs.—There was a smaller penning, and a weaker market. Good sold well at to 19s; medium, 15s to 17s; and inferior, down to lla.

Store sheep'.—A very mixed lot was penned, but it included some good lines of Romney cross and Corriedale two-tooths. The latter sold from 37s to 40s. In several cases there were outstanding sheep, but the market 'firmed to ewe fair parity. Fine wool two-tooths "sold to 37s 6d, and the bulk of average sorts Irom 27s to 30s. .Old sheep sold soundly from 14s to 16s for failing-mouthed, and to 21s for sound-mouthed. Fat lambs.—There was a rather slow sale for a small entry at export rates. Special pens made to-31s 10d..Fat sheep—A total of 5500 was penned, and a weaker sale resulted, exporters not being so keen. All but the best "wethers were down by Is 6d a head. Best wethers.-sold at from 29s to 335; good, 26s to 28s 6d; inferior, down to. 19s; best ewes, 18s to 21s; a few tops to 265; good medium weights, 15s.to'17s 6d; arid light down to 12s: Fat cattle.—A smaller entry of 433 head met an all-round better market by 10s to 15s a head, except for inferior cows. Best steers'made from £14 to £17-; good, £12 to £13 10s; light, down to £9; good cows and heifers, £7 10s to £9 10s; a few tops to £12; light heifers, down to £5 10s; and cows, to £5.

, Fat pigs.—There was little change in values. Porkers made 37s 6d to 51s (>d. The average^ price ,per 1b was 6Jd to 6Jd. Baconers made 57s 6d to £4=6s 6d. The average per lb was 6d to 6sd. Store pigs values were slightly
