ARMY GROWS
RECRUITING IN ENGLAND
(British Official Wireless.) (Received February 12, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, February 11. In the course of a speech at Devonport Mr, L. Hpre-Belisha, Minister of War, said that in twelve months the Regular Army had taken over 3600 more recruits than in the previous year and in the same period the Territorial Army had added the equivalent of a whole division to its strength. Applicants were in fact almost exceeding in number the capacity to put up buildings to accommodate them. The defences of every one of the home naval ports was manned by Territorials.
The War Office tonight announced that 3116 recruits were enlisted in the Territorial Army during January, which constitutes another record month for Territorial recuiting.
