SIX PERSONS BURNED MELBOURNE PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO
' MELBOURNE, Februw 1. . Two' men, a girl, and three firemen received severe burns when four mysterious' explosions sent flames sweeping through Broothorn's photographic studio today. One blast of flames swept the entire length of the reception room, where ten girl employees suffered shock. The fire apparently began in a storeroom. It was attacked by William Thomas, studio operator, with a fireextinguisher. Explosions followed, shattering -windows and sprinkling crowds in the street eleven floors below, with glass. Films, plates, and equipment valued at many thousands of pounds were destroyed. Thomas escaped with burns, but said that had the explosion 1' occurred five minutes earlier he would have been trapped in the dark-room behind the store.
