FLEET AIR ARM
TWO APPOINTMENTS

RUGBY, January 24.
A further step in the expansion of the Fleet Air Arm has been taken with the appointment of Captain M. Boucher as Director of Air Material and of Captain H. McWilliam as Director of Air Personnel.
The duties of these officers will include arranging for direct supplies from manufacturers to the Fleet Air Arm and the selection of additional officers and men for training purposes.
Captain Boucher was born on De: cember 19, 1888, and entered the Navy as a cadet in 1904. He was made a commander in 1923 and a captain in 1930. He served in the Great War, and was awarded the D.S.O. In 1925 he qualified as an air pilot, and he was attached to the Directorate of Training, Air Ministry, from 1929 to 1931. In 1931-32 he commanded H.M.S. Champion, and in 1933-34 was attached to the Naval Air Division in the Admiralty. Since 1935 he has been flag captain and chief staff officer to the rear-admiral in charge of aircraft-car-riers. . ■ "
