DISASTROUS SWERVE
(By Telegraph—Press "Association.) I . -AUCKLAND, January 23. Two men were severely injured when a motortruck in which they were travelling;'left the Great South Road beyond Papakura, ran down a bank, and overturned, early on Saturday afternoon. Both men were taken to Auckland Hospital, The injured are:— Reginald Cossey, aged 25, single, farmhand, of Dcury, fracture of the spine. < Roger Bede Dunn, aged 30, married, farmer, of Papakura, hip-joint broken. The accident occurred on a straight level section of the .concrete highway. The truck, driven by Mr. Dunn; was travelling southward, and it was stated that the driver swerved to avoid a collision, turning across to the righthand, side of the concrete. The truck left the road, and travelled some distance along the grass verge before capsizing. It came to rest with its wheelsin the air and the cab smashed to pieces. i
