Telegraph —Copy right.) BARCELONA, January 20. The latest unofficial estimates of the casualties as a result of the air raid are 400 killed and 1200 wounded. It is acknowledged as the most frightful bombing of the war. The entire city in less than two minutes' bombing was reduced to terror. The raiders completed' their job by machine-gunning the streets. Five eight-storey buildings in one street were wrecked, the occupants being buried. Two hundred dead and wounded were removed from a burning warehouse, and 50 are still imprisoned. Aviation experts say that the. bombs were the most powerful that haye 1 been seen; although they weighed less than two hundredweight they were as destructive as bombs of a ton in weight.
