ASHHURST MEETING

EXCELLENT CARD

HORSES IN LIKELY FORM

With excellent fields secured throughout the card, the Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club's Annual Meeting at Ashhurst tomorrow promises to be the most successful meeting the club has held since it first raced on Anniversary Day nine years ago. The weather prospects are good, and though the track will be firm it should not be too hard, as the club has been extensively watering it during the past fortnight. Form has been disclosed over the holidays, and there will also be a small infusion of horses who raced at Trentham the two first days this week. . T. R. George is sending three or four horses to the meeting, and the hurdler Camilla Horn is also going from Trentham.

The betting will be under the singlepool system, with progress dividends registered on" a barometer indicator. The following horses are likely to claim attention:—

- IT Hack Hurdles.—Bing Boy and Count Willonyx.

Pohangina Handicap.—Notium and Bodyline.

Komako Hack Handicap!— Red Cat and Vadanoe or Erebus. Ashhurst Cup.—Wiidflower and Alby or Helen Ford. • Novice Stakes.—Aria and Slam. Manawatu Gorge Hack Cup.—Race Boy and Maestro.
