The New Zealand intermediate and junior swimming championships were continued this morning, when eliminating heals in three events were decided. The weather continues ideal.
Results are as follows: —
50yds Junior Girls (Free-style).— First heat: N. Kira (Bay of Plenty), 1; H. Wilkins (Nelson), 2; D. Dunsford (Auckland), 3. Time, 31 4-ssec. Won by a foot. Second heat: M. Stewart (Otago), 1; B. Westerby (Southland), 2; O. Hobson (Canterbury), 3. Time, 31 4-ssec. Won by a yard. 100yds" Intermediate Boys (Breaststroke) .—First heat: I. Robertson (Wellington), 1; R. Knewstubb (Otago), 2; R. Duthie (Southland), 3. Time; lmin 19 2-ssec. Won by a touch. Second heat: M. Shannahan (South Canterbury), 1, The only one to qualify. Time, lmin 18 2-ssec.
440yds Intermediate Boys (Freestyle) .—First heat: R. Marshall (Canterbury), 1; C. Ferguson (Otago), 2; D. Dodson (Nelson), 3. Time, smin 48 2-ssec. Won by 30 yards. Second heat: J. Cameron (Southland), 1; M. Roan (Taranaki), 2; O. Vaughan (Wellington),^. Time, smin 57 3-ssec. Won by 12 yards.
