CLASS ON BEACHES.

(To the Emtor.i

Sir,—Please allow me a few lines to show what thoughtless acts are done by some people, presumably children. A few days ago, while on the beach, I noticed a number of pieces of broken glass sticking out of the sand; obviously someone had broken a bottle and arranged the broken pieces in a straight line so that some child passing that way barefooted would most likely cut his or her foot very badly. I picked up all the glass and threw it into a nearby hedge.—l am, etc., ALFRED D. SHILLING.
