MINSTER & FRUIT GROWERS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—The criticism of the Hon. Minister of Labour against the fruit growers is hardly called for. It is true the Labour Government has assisted the fruit industry, but is it not with public money, and has the assistance given not been justified by the circumstances? Further, can the Minister say that any other Goyerifment would have refused such assistance? Will the Minister tell the public what he has 'done.to prevent the rough handling of fruit on the wharves, whereby the fruit growers' loss amounts to thousands of pounds every year? The cost of handling the fruit is another matter that should receive the attention of the 'Government.—l am, etc.,
LOOKER ON.
