ST, AIDAN'S CHURCH

SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR

A most successful bazaar was opened by the Rev. A. T. B. Page, the retiring vicar of St. Aidah's Church, Miramar.

The bazaar was called "The Dutch Fair," and the well-stocked stalls were decorated accordingly. Windmills and tulips were freely displayed, and the stallholders appeared in check frocks with snowy aprons and caps. The set was completed with a beautiful scene of fields of tulips and a large windmill which was placed behind the stage where bran tubs added greatly to the attractions for the younger folk. Afternoon tea was daintily served in a large marquee where the tables were decorated with Iceland poppies.

The following were the stallholders: —Sweets, Mesdames Adams, Austin, Cadwallader; cakes, Mesdames Stone, Walton, O'Brien; fancywork, Mesdames Marshall, Chatfleld, Dean, and Pointon; plain work, Mesdames Cousins and Chegwidden; produce, ladies of Mothers' Union, Mesdames Redshaw, Handley, Milford, Robinson, Haslett; ice cream, Mesdames G. Braddock, F. Lane; tearooms, Mesdames Wahlers, Slatford, Quayler, Misses V. Stone, Gray, Lane, Quayle, Torkington, Marshall; order stall, Mesdames Torkington and Telford; plants and sideshows, the Vestry; putting, Messrs. Redshaw and. Parsons; bran tub, Miss M. Stone. Beautiful bouquets were presented to Mrs. Marsh, sister of the vicar, and Mrs. J. Telford, president of the guild.
