Two youths, Robert George Burns and Leslie James Wedderspoon, who were recently sentenced to a term of imprisonment for- the assault of a traffic officer near Wanganui, appeared in the. court-• this morning: to answer charges of unlawful conversion "of motor-cars at Hastings and Gisborne, the. theft of gelignite detonators and fuse., and a first-aid outfit at Mangaweka, and the theft of a motor-cycle at Auckland.: On the first two charges they were convicted and sentenced-to three months' imprisonment in the Auckland .gaol, the terms .to- be. concurrent but cumulative with the terms already being served. On the second charge they were ordered to come up for.sentence.within twelve, months if called' upon, and on the third they were remanded to appear, at Auckland tomorrow. A further charge of stealing a tent was withdrawn.
