Mr. W. H. Saunders, J.P', charged With deserting from a_ foreign ship.while in New Zealand waters. The defendant, who was arrested by Constable R. Church, yesterday morning, could only speak a few words of English, and the services of a lady, interpreter had to be enlisted. Lewers.'was remanded to appear at the Wellington Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
