LONDON, November 15,

The Under-Secrfetary for Foreign Affaffs, Lord Cranborne, stated in the House of Commons that there is no reason to suppose that the Italian reinforcement of the troops in Libya is directed against Egypt. It was Understood that the normal garrison of 20,000 had been increased by from 40,000 to 45,000. The Italian Government had stated that there wa* no cause for apprehension. The British Government would carry out its obligations and defend Egyptian territory in the event of Egypt being the victim of aggression.
