LOWER HUTT RED CROSS

The Lower Hutt branch of -the Hed Cross Society has so far collected the sum ,of £81 7s. Id on behalf of the Far East Relief Fund. The various units of the. St. John Ambulance Society are selling stamps on. behalf of the fund, but the proceeds-'from these sales, will-be accounted for-by the St. John Ambulance Association in Wellington. Members of the..Lower Hutt Chinese community have also been making a collection. ' The Lower-Hutt branch of the Red Cross Society is organising a . street and shop day on Friday, and donations of produce, cakes, jams, etc., may be left at the principal stall at the King George Theatre on Friday: morning. Mrs. Choy Kum, of Petone, and Mrs. M.' Upton are organising a dance to be held in the. ftorticultural Hall on Wednesday, November 24; this will be attended by the Chinese Consul ahd his wife, Mr: and Mrs. Feng .Wang... Mrs, L. Yen has six ■ handsome prizes for novelty dances, and there will be a series of ballets. The proceeds'from'the dance will- go through the Red' Cross fund for'the.purchase of .medical supplies for the Far East. .
