F. Ross, who has returned from abroad, saw this process.. being carried out in Yorkshire. . He also visited a factory in Nottingham where knitting machinery had been partly replaced by plant for making shells,- manufacturing concerns linking their private business with a duty to the State in assisting to consolidate the defences of England.
