£288,000,000 IN ORDERS

RUGBY, November 3.

The Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence, Sir Thomas Inskip, informed the House of Commons that the value of the orders placed by the Defence Department during last financial year was £195,666,900 and for the first six months of this financial year £92,324,000.

The values of orders placed in specially distressed areas were £52,840,000 and £29,048,000 respectively.
