HIGH GRADE EXHIBITS
COMPARISONS MADE
Though this year's show cannot surpass last year's "Royal" at Christchurch, m number of entries of competitions, horses, cattle, sheep, and pigs, yet when of all descriptions are taken into account Palmerston North's record total of 5320 must command attention. It is interesting to compare this year's show with the last "Royal" held at Palmerston North, in 1932 (which was not a good year for the fanning community) and the previous one in 1928. This year's show is ahead of the last "Royal" here, which was also ahead of the "Royal" of 1928. These facts show that in both good times and bad the fanner realises the value of competition, which is one of the' methods by which he ensures that his products shall not only maintain their high standard, but improve. Particulars of entries for the "Royals of 1937, 1932, and 1928 are as -follows:— Fourteenth Royal Show (1937).
