FOURTEENTH ROYAL SHOW

DISPLAY AT PALMERSTON NORTH

(From "The Post's" Special Reporter.) PALME RSTON NORTH, November 4. I 1 With the^ weather propitious everything points to the Royal Show of 1937", at Palmerston North, being an outstanding success. If entries alone are considered, the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, to whose charge the fourteenth Royal Show has been committed, has every reason to be satisfied, but the outstanding feature of the display is its wide representation, the entries covering both islands. To have secured a Royal Championship is something of which the exhibitor may always be proud—even those who secure lesser awards always regard a prize at "the Royal" as something above the usual. The show was opened officially this afternoon by his Excellency the Governor-General (Viscount Galway) in the presence of a large crowd. The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. L. Martin) was also present. The weather for the first day was beautifully warm and fine, and the ring competitions and other outdoor events were watched with" interest.
