The weather was warm and there was a large attendance ior the second day of the Victoria Racing Clubs Meeting at Flemington. , St. Fox was prominent throughout and won the hurdle race comfortably. He is owned and trained in Adelaide. Pandava led always in .the Moore Stakes. He has had two wins m three starts, and is trained by the New Zealander George Price. r . .... Ajax led throughout in the Limithgow Stakes. Young Idea beat Kings Head for second place in the last stride. Ajax is entitled to be rated the best middle-distance performer seen in recent years. . SackviUe surprised by. finishing strongly to win the Carnival Handicap, his first success, Pantoon ran.a good race, being beaten only in the last few strides. Royal Order was the only one who was never dangerous. Prairie Moon had a comfortable win in the Oaks. Ortelle's Star ran a game race and Kna finished well after interference near the mile. Prairie Moon is the fourth filly to win the Wakeful Stakes and Oaks double in six .years. She is trained by the former jockey P. Muschialli. Young Crusader returned to his old style of racing when he went to the front from the start in the Veteran Stakes and held off the fast-finishing Prince Quex for a comfortable victory.
