The only horse in the field for the Welcome Stakes tomorrow who has not yet raced is Neptune: This youngster is the Tidal—Marais. colt who was bought at the January sales for 130 guineas by E. J. Ellis, on behalf of Mr. J. M. Samson, of Dunedin. Marais is a sister to the hurdler Petrarch, and she descends from the same stock as Mascot (Auckland Cup), Ardenvhor (New Zealand Cup), etc.
