SECRETARY TO GOVERNOR
En route to Queensland to take up the appointment of private secretary to the Governor-General there for three years, Lieutenant-Colonel G. F. Bunbury, accompanied by his wife, arrived today by the Tamaroa from England. He was formerly with the 20th Lancers, the old 14th Bengal Lancers, on the North West frontier of India, and has spent 22 years in India. Unrest continued on the frontier in India and there always would be disturbances, said Lieutenant-Colonel Buhbury. "Until the whole of the tribal territory is taken by us," he continued, "there will always be fighting there. It results in an awful waste of lives. In a big disturbance last year quite a few hundred lives must have been lost."
i The Governor of Queensland is Sir Leslie Wilson, with whom LieutenantColonel Bunbury was associated in India about ten years ago.
