INQUIRY INTO EMPIRE
PROBLEMS
LONDON, November 2.
Urging the Government to invite the self-governing States, Dominions, and colonies to combine in establishing a commission to inquire into the questions of access of raw materials to the world markets, colonial development, and surplus populations, representatives of signatories to a petition seeking an international inquiry into the cause of unrest among nations formed a' deputation to the Prime Minister.
The petition originated in Liverpool. It is widely supported by all pojitical. parties. The Signatories include leading churchmen, Parliamentarians, heads of universities and Royal societies, and noted writers. Foreign loans, credit, trade restrictions, and international exchange are other proposed subjects for inquiry.
