SALAMANCA—PRO. TEM.
The pages devoted to Spain in the new edition of the list of German diplomatic and consular /representatives abroad, which has been issued by the German Foreign Office, breathe a refreshing spirit of optimism. The seat of the Embassy is given as "Madrid iff or the time being in Salamanca). The extent of the Ambassador's field of authority is comprehensively stated to be "Spain, with the Baleafics and the Spanish possessions in the Gulf of Guinea." The list is already out of date, for General Faupel is still given as Ambassador. A full muster of twenty-five consulates is still provided, and only a: small note at the bottom of the page adds the'information that "the consular officials in the territory of the Spanish Nationalists are at work, the others not." The Consulate at Alicante is the only one described as "closed."
