ITALIAN EFFORTS. INTENSE FOUNDATION WORK MOSLEM UNIVERSITY (Received October 20, 9.45 a.m.) 1 LONDON, October 19. Mr. Vernon Bartlett, in an article in the "News Chronicle," says that Italy is working intensely for the foundation , of an African Empire. Three hundred propagandists are preparing documents in .twenty-eight African languages. The most intense use of radio will be made in Abyssinia, concurrently with cultural propaganda and military training. The world's greatest Moslem university is planned. It is hoped to have a native army of 3,000,000 within five years, with 300,000 on the active list. A company with 100,000,000 lire capital, 51 per cent. Italian and 49 per cent. German, has been formed to exploit Abyssinia's iron, coal, copper, and zinc, and preparations have been made to tap timber and water power, .
