Hie. annual small-table handicap billiards'tournament was continued jr.Messrs. Billiards, Ltd.'s, rooms last night. Results: H. W. Gilberd (received 30) had a narrow victory over G. Lamb (received 55), 200-195; E. A. Josling, 1936 champion (owe 60), beat H. V. Hitt (owe 60), 260-162. The best breaks were Josling 31, 25, 20; Hitt 23. W. H. Long (received 60) beat Li. B. Smith (received 40), 200-115. Smith made a2B break. S. C. Eaton (owe 50) beat J. Brackenridge (owe 30), 250166. Best breaks in this game were: Eaton 30, 29, 26; Brackenridge 34, 20. A. Armstrong (owe 175) played brilliantly to win from H. Overend (received 40), 375-277. The former averaged 17 points a visit; and made breaks of 47, 51, 72, 32. W. Keech (received 45) beat F. Lockett (received 65), 200-186. The best break was 36 by Keech. Tonight at 7 o'clock A. Armstrong plays W. Keech, and H. R. Tunley plays K. C. Morpeth. At 8 p.m. W. H. Long plays S. C. Eaton, and F. Lovell plays A. Plowman. At 9 pjn. E. A. Josling plays H. Gilberd, and the winner of the TunleyMorpeth game plays the winner of. ,the Plowman y,. Lovell game to decide the semi-finalists. There will be no games tomorrow. The semi-finals and final will be played on Monday. A women's handicap billiard tournament will follow this event.
