MAY BE DELAYED
BUILDING OF NEW VESSELS
FOR PACIFIC
PRINCETON (8.C.), Sept. 16,
Sir Edward Beatty, chairman of the Canadian Pacific Steamships, said the increased British costs of shipbuilding might conceivably delay the construction of the two new vessels for the Canadian-Australasian Line unless most favourable financial arrangements could be effected.
Pie added that costs had greatly increased after the opening of negotiations with the intention of competing with the Matson Line.
