(Received September' 7, 9 a.m.)
NEW YORK, September «.
A message from Corland, New York, states that a fugitive gunman who is believed to be a notorious desperado, kidnapped two patrolmen in a police car and kept them at the point of a pistol for fourteen hours. Patrolmen picked up a suspect in Johnson City and were driving him to headquarters when the man drew a gun and said: "Get me out of town quick." The patrolmen drove thirtyfive miles to a deserted farmhouse in a remote section. The gunman ordered the car to drive to a barn and sat for twelve hours with his gun pointed at the policemen's backs. He released his captives late at night and gave them flashlights to assist them in finding their way. He then drove .off.
