Conditions were against a good display, the ground be- ( ing very muddy; put nevertheless gome excellent movements were seen on both sides. The B team: took the initiative, arjd were soon hammering at goal, but play switched to the other end, where a shot from P. Adams eventually foundthe net,: the ball being deflected ■ in by-one -Of, the .defenders.', From the bully the B team took play downfield with a rush, and M. Browne equal- ~\ ised-from the edge of the circle. For a long period play was confined to the A team's "territory^ a player, prominent on attack being B. Gapes. Following a breakaway :by -the B team, the A goalmouth was hotly attacked, and a neat centre from Nimmo might have been turned to advantage but for inaccurate play in the circle. Next ..time Nimmo himself took the ball through the op- « posing backs and netted, giving Ka- 1 raroi A a 2-1 lead at half-time. ] M. Browne added another goal' to i Karori'p B total soon after the resumption of play, but the A team again drew ahead when a good flick shot by Nimmo found the net. The B team made strenuous efforts to overtake their opponents during the final stages of the game, but they were unable to score again,. and the game ended Karori A 3, Karori B 2. Messrs. W. Keys and C. P. McKenzie were the umpires.
