The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew its first race ,of the old-bird season from Hunterville (966J miles) during the weekend.
The following were the «rst eight placings:—A. Bold and Son's bird (velocity 937.92 yds per mm) 1, J. Bolton and Son's Sun Glow (937.40) 2, W. Smith jun.'s bird (937.08) 3, P. M?xted's bird (936.59) 4, W. Asplet's Royal Lad (9.36.11) 5, W. Whittington and Son's Black Prince (932.33) 6, K. Burden's bird (930.36) 7, J. Earnshaw's Blue Lass (924.27) 2.
