NEW FIRST MEMBER
COMMONWEALTH NAVAL BOARD (Received September 6, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, September 5. Vice-Admiral Ragnar Colvin, has been appointed first member of tha Commonwealth Naval Board, and sails by the Orontes on September 25. Vice-Admiral Ragnar Musgrave Colvin entered the Navy in 1896 and became a captain in 1917 and rearadmiral in 1929, being promoted viceadmiral three years ago. He served with the Grand Fleet at Jutland, was Assistant-Director of the plans division of the Naval Staff in 1918-19, was ■in the Mediterranean anc Black Sea in 1919-21, and wrs Chief of Staff of the Home Fleet in 1930-32. For a period he was naval attache at the British Embassy in Tokio. In "1932-33 he was rear-admiral with the 2nd Battle Squadron, and in 1934 was appointed to the command of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Bj special arrancement Reuler's world service.
