The Methodist Hall, Hataltai, was weH filled when the Hataitai committee of the ladies' auxiliary of Rongotai College,' with ' Mrs. SY L. Rossiter as the convener, held a most successful afternoon recently. Masses of Iceland poppies added an air of cheeriness to the hall. ..' \ * , > ': ■
Mrs. Peter Fraser gave;, a greatlyappreciated and very interesting taiJi on "Education from a Physical and Mental Viewpoint." . .
A feature ''was the singing of the Rongotai College boys' choir conducted by Mr. McCaw, with Mr. Godier as pianist. The choir was loudly applauded for its, excellent performance. A vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Ironside and Miss Sutherland, and a solo by Mrs. Ainslie, accompanied by Mrs. Howard Cook. Mrs. Craig McKenzie's elocutionary items were very popular.
A dainty afternoon tea was served, and thanks were expressed to Mrs. Fraser for her talk, to the artists, and to Mr. F. Renner, principal of the college, lor allowing the choir lo be present.
