ENGAGED AT WELLINGTON
Gerfalcon, far and away, the best I hree-year-old trotter1 raced last season, is engaged in the Improvers' Handicap at New Brighton, and though set to give away 48 yards to a big field of older horses, the Durbar Lodge gelding will give a good account of himself. He is also engaged at Wellington next'week. In his few starts he has Impressed by his steadiness of gait when under pressure, arid a good spell from racing should have improved him in stamina. Now four years old, Gerfalcon looks like being one of the best propositions in training, and his form will be watched with interest. A win from a 3min 39sec mark will place him in a class in wliich he will be called on to meet good trotters; but indications are that he will hold his own. . . .
