COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Thefts totalling nearly £300 from the Christchurch branch of the Government Life Insurance Office were admitted by Russell Frederick Organ in the Magistrate's Court. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The evidence showed that demands for money from an unrevealed source had been made on Organ during June, and he had taken money to meet them. When he found he could not repay the money he had flown from Christchurch to Auckland and attempted to1 get to Australia by the Niagara. He was arrested on the boat and brought badk to Christchurch.
