INDIAN CABINET
FIRST WOMAN APPOINTED
India's first woman Cabinet Minister was appointed on July 16, states the "Daily Telegraph's" Bombay correspondent. She is Mrs. Vijai Lakshmi Pandit, sister of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, President of the Congress Party. Her. name was included in the new Congress Ministry accepted at Luckhow by the Governor -of "the -United Provinces, Sir Harry Haig. In Bombay, the Governor, Lord Brabourne, invited Mr. B. G. Kher, the Congress leader, to form a Ministry, but acceptance of the invitation is being delayed until certain points are cleared up.
