TALK ON WOMEN POETS
Sitting in an informal semi-circle in one of the smaller of the Lyceum clubrooms the members of the New Zealand Women Writers' and Artists' Society spent avery enjoyable time last night listening to addresses on New Zealand women poets. Miss Phyllis FitzGerald arranged the meeting, and others present included Miss C. Keddell (who was chairwoman), Madame Bligh, Miss Fanny Richardson, Mrs. I. King, Mrs! W. Bailey, Mrs. C. W. Taylor, Mrs. A. D. Kerr, Mrs. Igglesden, Mrs. Jesson, Mrs. O. Shakespeare, Mrs. Clay, Mrs. Cable, and the Misses Morgan, Sievwright, Miller, M. Kitching, J. Rogers, L. Livistan, M. Willcocks, N. E. Donovan, and Sheila Staveley. The speakers were Mrs. Bailey, whose subject was "Women Poets in General"; Miss Sheila Staveley, "Anonymous Poets"; Mrs. Ivor King, "Molly Howden"; Miss Willcocks, "Katherine Mansfield"; and Miss Mary Kitching, "Gloria Rawlinson." Mrs. Taylor read an essay on "The Life of Jessie Mackay," written by Mrs. J. C. Andersen. \ The serving of supper brought to a close a very entertaining and instructive meeting.
