THE EAST SATIRISED
The East has had many interpreters, and its mysteries, real or supposed, have led to many serious attempts at their solution, but at last they have been approached in a spirit of satire, and "Oriental Spotlight," written by Rameses and illustrated by Roly, will be found as diverting as it is informed. It gives a delicious picture of Egypt and the countries east of it; of officials, planters, merchants, and even the British Army: and such a cold douche of satire and humour is an invigorating experience and is not without its moments of real enlightenment. It is a John Murray publication.
