TODAY'S RUGBY
FINAL TRIAL MATCH
REID AND SULLIVAN OUT
Keen anticipation of a great Rugby spectacle this afternoon was dulled very considerably by the bad weather. It'was most unfortunate for all who expected to have a football treat, but there was a grain of satisfaction in the fact that the players in the running for the New' Zealand Test team were given an opportunity .of playing under wet weather conditions.. The game went on, and it drew a large attendance, though nothing like that which would have been recorded had the afternoon been more favourable.
Two of the selected players, S. Reid and J. L. Sullivan, were- unable to take part in the final trial. Reid was suffering from bronchitis, and Sullivan's eye injury was still giving a little trouble. These two plsyers were replaced by, F. H. Fraser Smith and W. J. Fulton, of Wellington. Additional emergencies were J. Wells (Wellington) and E. R. Chesterman (Southland). ■ ■ '
