YOUTH PEACE COUNCIL

The first meeting or -.lie executive committee of the recentJy-fonned New Zealand Youth Peace Council was held last evening. Professor F. L. W. Wood (president) presided. The following were the most important points decided upon by the committee:—•

The first New Zealand Youth Peace Council will be held during the weekend ot November G next. This will be a youth conference of representatives from national youth organisations, organisations with a substantial youth membership, and local youth peace councils, and no representative will be more than 35 years of age.

A sub-committee was set up to make arrangements for the coming visit of Mr. Arthur Henderson, who will be spending ten days in New Zealand at the end of August on his way to the Australian International Peace Campaign Congress. Mr. Henderson is a well-known Labour member of the English Parliament, and speaker on peace and the League of Nations.

Affiliations are now being received from interested societies, and-Miss E. Beimel] was appointed treasurer to deal with these.

The next meeting of the executive rominiUoc will be held on Thursday, July 20.
