LONG-DESIRED PLAYROOM

A meeting of the Levin Memorial Home committee was held on Tuesday when Miss Archibald presided. The matron reported that all the children were well, and that the work of the. home was proceeding smoothly. The handsome gift from Lord Nuffield had enabled- a start to be made with the long-desired children's playroom, an; improvement which will brighten the lives of the girls, and be of benefit to their health;and general welfare. A further £10 -grant from the estate of .the late Mr. W. G. D.- Brown made a welcome addition to this fund, but a further „£SO would still be needed to' enable completion-'of the work. .The committee 'expressed thanks to the following donors:—Estate of W. G. D. Brown, Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. Willoughby, Miss Evans, "A -Wellwisher, I Miss Kelly, Mr. Yates, N.Z. Fisheries,' Mayfair Cabaret, and the ; Proteena Manufacturing Company.
