AIR FORCE STATION

ACQUISITION OF LAND

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

PALMERSTON N., This Day.

The intention of the Government to purchase 166 acres of his property at Ohakea, between Sanson and Bulls, for the purpose of an Air Force station, has been conveyed to Mr. F. O. Bailey by the Public Works Department. It is understood that several other properties in the neighbourhood are to be acquired to provide an aerodrome of 500 acres. Mr. Bailey's property is all first-class land and is flat. Mr. Bailey has farmed the place for thirty-eight years, Having secured it by ballot in 1899.
