WAIHI, This-Day.
A sharp earthquake occurred at 11.35 this morning, lasting about six seconds. Buildings, shook and creaked ominously. The shock was probably the severest yet jfelt here. ' '
The following message was received ; in Wellington- at 1.33 p.m. from the / postmaster at waihi:—"Second* earthquake, a slight tremor, , occurred 12.15 p.m. At 12.59 p.m. short, sharp shock occurred, apparently from south-east. Duration, one to two seconds. . N« damage yet reported." "*. , , ,
