HATAITAI BOYS' CONCERT

A concert arranged by a group of Hataitai boys, all under fourteen years of age, was held last evening in the Hataitai Methodist Hall, and as a result the King George V Memorial Fund will benefit substantially. The hall was packed to the doors and the audience greatly appreciated - a surprise

visit by his Worship the Mayor, who in a happy speech congratulated the boys on their splendid effort.

The proceeds were/ augmented by the sale of sweets, jam, etc., and on the conclusion of the concert patrons added still further to . the funds ■by throwing contributions into a large Union Jack spread out for the purpose.

The following contributed to the programme:—The pupils of Margaret Oates School of Dancing, Mr. G. Sutherland, Mr. Dobson and partner, Mrs. E. J. Marshall, Mr. T. Jenkins, Master A. Sherwood, Miss'lrene Wells, Miss Valeska Jenkins, the Continental Harmonica Band, Messrs. Kingi Tahiwi, Agassig, Frank Bennett, Jimmie Fitzpatrick, and Norman Dawe. The boys who arranged the concert were Robert McCormick, Ross Bullockf Pat Goldsworthy, Allan Sherwood, Norman, William, and Raymond Stokes, and Thomas Russell.
