PETITIONS FOR DIVORCE

On the ground of separation a decree nisi was granted by Mr. Justice Ostler in the Supreme .Court today to Huia Edith Reid (Mr. O. C. Mazengarb), who petitioned for divorce from Holland Arthur Reid.

Mavis Annie Jackson (Mr. J. S. Hanna) and William Richard Jackson (Mr. O. C. Mazengarb) each sought divorce from the other on the ground of separation. The Court thought there was nothing to be gained by granting mutual decrees, and with the husband's consent the wife proved her case and was granted a decree nisi.

On charges of drunKenness and ? of casting offensive matter in a. public place, Charles Auberon Goddard, labourer, aged 67, appeared .before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in'the Magistrate's Court 'today. He was convicted and discharged on the first charge, and fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, on the second. : Dunbar Sloane, Ltd., auctioneers,
